Kevin Sharpe would never use one word when ten would do. This does make his books something less than concise. But if you are interested in this era, imagine yourself in a pub with a warm and immensely knowledgable friend, who wants to share with you everything he knows, and is happy to take your thoughts up and toss them around to find what substance there might be in them. This is very much the experience of reading Sharpe. There is much to be learned here. But beyond even that, there is the simple pleasure of being able to spend time in such good company. Highly recommended.
