supervision, therapy teams, and case consultation as well as unpublished
manuscripts written by her provide unique opportunities to illustrate specific assumptions and techniques rarely seen before.
The documents outline Ms. Berg s philosophy, assumptions, and techniques
to conduct supervision, and the videos offer in vivo examples of her supervision and team/case consultation style. Together, the Archive materials offer a rich resource for a book that both informs and illustrates SFS?.
Solution-Focused Supervision: A Resource-Oriented Approach to Developing Clinical Expertise Review
I just finished a careful reading of this new book on supervision. I call it a careful reading because I found myself making lots of notes about useful ideas and practices I can adopt in work with my supervisees and mentees. I appreciate how the book blends Insoo Kim Berg's thinking, existing research, and the author's practice-based reflections on supervision. The book credits Berg's (and Steve de Shazer's) work, yet looks beyond and forward to a broader--but still solution-focused inspired-- approach to supervision that can be employed with all practitioners no matter their preferred model. I think this book is a major contribution to the solution-focused literature and the supervision literature in general. I'm already doing some things differently in my own supervision work based on it. Thanks to the author for all the hard work put into this project! I can imagine the book is already getting lots of well-deserved, positive comments from its readers. Most of the consumer Reviews tell that the "Solution-Focused Supervision: A Resource-Oriented Approach to Developing Clinical Expertise" are high quality item.
