This volume looks to be an important contribution to research strategies on religion. However, I am sending my copy back. It appears to have been printed via a digital process and placed in a perfect (glued) binding. I find the quality of the printed text unacceptable (others may be fine with it). In addition, the few plates in the volume do not have the clarity I expect for a reference work. Finally, I worry about the durability of the binding. If I am going to invest in a reference work at this price, I expect -- perhaps unreasonably -- offset printing and a sewn binding. I may reconsider a purchase if a paperback version comes out at a more reasonable price. It would be great if Amazon could leverage its position as a major retailer to have publishers provide specific information about how new volumes have been printed.
