Business Continuity Planning for Data Centers and Systems: A Strategic Implementation Guide Review
I'm a senior technologist and read many books on IT assurance and systems continuity. This book has some interesting points and is written in an engaging style, but has lots of questionable assertions. Each chapter is really a short essay on specific elements related to data center build considerations. I do not consider this to be a business continuity book. The biggest challenge is that there is no supporting evidence or references for any of the assertions made anywhere in the book. The writer makes many claims about costs for various elements of a data center, risks, and factors that should be considered...and I can agree with many. However, many of them seem entirely off base...and many points are unclear. There is no way for the reader to go check the facts on the questionable assertions. How can you have a 200 page book with graphs and charts, yet no bibliography or methods to validate the points. Novices may find this material interesting (and it is), but will have no way of filtering out accurate versus inaccurate information. I would not recommend this book to any of junior staff or other professionals. Most of the consumer Reviews tell that the "Business Continuity Planning for Data Centers and Systems: A Strategic Implementation Guide" are high quality item.
