Textbooks are problematic. They are written for the money not because the author or authors have a passion to say something. I was considering this book as a possible textbook for an international human resource management course. When the first two words in the second paragraph of the introduction refer to "Herbert Perlmutter" instead of Howard Perlmutter, it suggests the author was trying too hard to look smart and knowledgeable. Perlmutter's model was simple, powerful and influential and the real Perlmutter deserves correct acknowledgement. Having read it when it came out in 1969, I am offended for him. The book seems to do what textbooks are supposed to do in providing a comprehensive overview of a field. But misnaming one of the founders of a field is off-putting.Most of the consumer Reviews tell that the "International Human Resource Management" are high quality item.
